2009 - The Beginning
Mat found the perfect space for a garage in the centre of Goole, and set about converting a disused milk dairy into an independent garage. Abi helped with the paperwork/legal/accounting side, and in January 2010 the doors were officially opened, with Mat in the workshop on the tools.
2012 - The First Mechanic
The first couple of years flew by and our friendly approachable communication, combined with our honest & efficient mechanic work, meant that Mat was working all the hours! We took on our first mechanic in 2012, and expanded further over the following few years, taking on more mechanics whilst Mat made a move to more office based activities and management of the busy workshop.
2017 - Car Sales
We expanded in to car sales, striving to transfer the ethos of our mechanical side into the used car market. We service and MOT all our cars before they leave our site, and offer a comprehensive in-house warranty for 3 months. We want buying a car to be a pleasant experience, with no pushy sales staff. Mat is our main man when it comes to knowing the car stock, but Abi, Rich and Luke are all on hand to help as well.
2019 - Expanding... Across the Road!
As our reputation as a trustworthy & friendly garage travelled, we soon needed more space. We expanded and now have a sales pitch directly opposite our main workshop & reception. We also took on a full time detailer / valet specialist, making sure all our cars are prepped and presented in a professional manner.
2022 - Onwards & Upwards
MATS Garage continues to grow and serve our awesome customers in the local area and beyond, for both the mechanical and the used car sales side of our business.

One thing that hasn't changed over the years is the essence of MATS Garage. We wanted to provide an independent garage, which focuses on honesty and reliability, whilst being friendly and approachable, and we've duplicated this ethos with our used car sales too. We have a wonderful team, with diverse and complimentary skills, and we're all looking forward to many more years to come.
